Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., said that the White House must release a list of names of its administration members that do not have full security clearance.
"This White House has been contemptible about security. I'll be calling, later today, for the 30 to 40 names of the interim security clearances because I believe they are a threat to national security. They owe us those names," Blumenthal said Tuesday on CNN's "New Day."
"Security matters," Blumenthal added.
Thirty to 40 Trump administration officials, including son-in-law Jared Kushner, do not have full security clearances, CNN reported Friday.
That security issue is one reason why the Democrats' response to Rep. Devin Nunes' memo on surveillance allegations must be released, Blumenthal said.
"There are elements of the Nunes memo that deserve to be refuted on the record. And the Democratic minority of the House Intelligence Committee is being very responsible to work with the FBI and the Department of Justice to eliminate any parts of it that may compromise security," Blumenthal said
