Sen. Bob Corker, R-Tenn., is reportedly thinking about calling off his retirement and running for re-election this year.
CNN cited Republican sources Monday as saying Corker might try to stick around for at least another term.
Corker, according to the network, has discussed the possibility with Sens. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., along with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. What is not clear is if Corker brought up the idea or if he is being encouraged by fellow Republicans to run again.
Complicating the issue is the fact Rep. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., is already a confirmed candidate for Corker's seat. She is well-liked among Republicans, McConnell included.
Corker has also feuded with President Donald Trump, although they apparently made amends last month.
Politico reported Monday that multiple Republicans are urging Corker to run for another term out of concerns Blackburn could lose in the November election.
"While Corker is listening to the concerns that have been raised, he hasn't made any commitments," a person close to Corker told Politico.
