In spelling out the details of President Donald Trump's exit from the Iran nuclear deal, the administration made clear it is not pursuing "regime change" or even in contact with the Iranian exile community seeking to oust the theocratic government in Tehran.

At a briefing by National Security Adviser John Bolton Tuesday after the president's announcement, Newsmax noted that former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani repeatedly invoked the term "regime change" when speaking at the weekend Iran Freedom Convention in Washington, D.C.

When aAsked by Newsmax whether the administration has any contact with the Iranian exile community, such as the National Council for Iranian Resistance, or talk about them as a government in exile or a future government in Iran, Bolton replied:

"I'm not aware of any of that, and that's just not something that's ever come up."
