Conservative writer and activist Brent Bozell is urging conservatives nationwide to take a stand against left-wing media bias and protest at network affiliates' offices.

In a Media Research Center statement, Bozell said the time is now for conservatives to unite.

"The leftist media are out of control and the American people know it and are furious," Bozell said. "These so-called 'news' journalists are doing everything in their power to AFFECT THE OUTCOME OF THE ELECTION. In 30 years I've never seen anything like this.

"Protesters went to the CNN affiliate in Hollywood to protest, and at least one was assaulted. Enough is enough. We have never done this before, but we are calling on people to organize and publicly protest against their local network 'news' affiliates around the country," Bozell added, referring to a recent incident in Los Angeles.

"The media will never hold themselves accountable, so now it's up to the people to rise and protest," Bozell added. "And if any protester is assaulted again, conservatives have every right to defend themselves appropriately."

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump has repeatedly bashed the media during his campaign, saying it is biased against him and is trying to help Democrat Hillary Clinton win the election.

Trump and those in his camp cried foul over the media's handling of a leaked tape in which Trump can be heard joking about kissing, groping, and trying to have sex with women who were not his wife.
