Top Jeb Bush adviser Sally Bradshaw told CNN that she has left the Republican Party and that voting against "narcissist" Donald Trump is "the only real choice for reasonable, thoughtful Republicans to make."
Further, Bradshaw told CNN that if the race is close in Florida, she will vote for Hillary Clinton.
"We are at a crossroads and have nominated a total narcissist — a misogynist — a bigot," Bradshaw told CNN. "This is a time when the country has to take priority over political parties. Donald Trump cannot be elected president."
Bradshaw, who began working for Jeb Bush's father, George H.W. Bush, in 1988, told CNN she changed her voter registration to "unaffiliated."
Bradshaw worked on Bush's gubernatorial campaigns in Florida in the 1990s and was his senior adviser on his presidential campaign this year, CNN reported.
Bush has not endorsed Trump and did not attend the Republican National Convention.
"If and when the party regains its sanity, I'll be ready to return. But until Republicans send a message to party leadership that this cannot stand, nothing will ever change," Bradshaw told CNN.
