Mike Huckabee — no great fan of California's liberal political sway — has come out swinging at the Golden State again, this time blasting a judge's ruling that forces coffee sellers to tell customers their cups of Joe could cause cancer.
"Yep! [A California] judge rules coffee shops have to warn customers coffee can cause cancer," the former Arkansas governor and two-time GOP presidential candidate wrote on his Facebook page.
"Why not a ruling that those entering [California] are entering a "Brain Free Zone" where CA judges cause loss of common sense?"
Last week, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Elihu Berle ruled that Starbucks and other companies must put a cancer warning on coffee sold in California.
The ruling came after a not-for-profit group sued 90 coffee retailers, including Starbucks, for allegedly violating a California law requiring companies to warn customers of chemicals in their products that may cause cancer. One is acrylamide, which forms when beans are roasted and is present in brewed coffee.
