Democrats might not have overtaken the Republican Party in the House, but the money is on the minority party right now as Democrats' "green wave" has given them $129 million more than Republicans to spend down the stretch, Politico reported.

With former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg planning to spend $80 million on Democratic House candidates, and the GOP amassing $60 million in TV ad dollars since July compared to Dems' $109 million, according to the report, pro-Trump America First Action super PAC President Brian Walsh says money is getting dumped on Democratic candidates "by the truckload."

"From Democrat candidates to outside groups, we've never seen anything like this before," Walsh told Politico. "They are dumping in cash by the truckload."

Democrats are pumping the war chests of House candidates with online donations to send a message to President Donald Trump, according to GOP aide Charlie Black to Politico.

"We're raising more money than we usually do on our side, and they're raising more than they ever do, and it's because of Trump," Black told Politico. "He's the great motivator."

With the money deficiency, the GOP is going to have to be strategic if it is going to fend off the Democrats' "green" and blue waves.

"When you're dealing with challengers, they're generally unknown until late in the election cycle," former Rep. Mike Ferguson, R-N.J., told Politico. "Being able to define the race early is important when you're dealing with a challenging election climate.

"You're going to be less at the mercy of the environment when time is running out."

Some trailing GOP candidates have seen their funding get moved over to tighter races, a cause of frustration over desertion, according to the report.

"As the Democrats' financial position continues to improve, the greater their opportunities become," former National Republican Congressional Committee official Ken Spain told Politico. "Not only will they be able to pump more money into winnable races, they can also expand the map by investing in races that were once on the periphery."
