A Catholic voters’ group is targeting swing states in a $9.7 million campaign against Joe Biden.
The group, CatholicVote, is described by The Hill as a conservative faith-based advocacy group that is critical of Biden’s position on abortion and other issues.
“Joe Biden’s record makes clear he will not protect our Catholic values or defend our way of life,” CatholicVote President Brian Burch said.
If elected, Biden would be the nation’s second Catholic president.
The organization has released “The Biden Report for Catholic Voters,” which covers Biden’s career “from a Catholic perspective” and highlights where he stands on issues like “sanctity of life,” religious liberty, judges, and education, according to The Hill.
CatholicVote is planning to send versions of the report to 5 million “active Catholic voters” in swing states, according to The Hill.
“For Catholics who cherish the faith and their freedom to live it, a Biden presidency represents an existential threat,” Burch said.
It is also kicking off a $350,000 digital ad campaign in Michigan and Pennsylvania.
The 30-second spot includes a narrator saying: “Joe Biden would force American Catholic to pay for abortions — sacrificing his Catholic values to kneel before the leftist mob.”
Biden last month scoffed at dismissals of the sincerity of his Catholic faith during the Republican National Convention, calling the remarks "preposterous."
Former Notre Dame football coach Lou Holt had said Biden and Democrats who claim to be Catholics are "Catholics in name only" because of their position in support of abortion.
