CBS is denying the Trump campaign's claims that the network's "60 Minutes" interview with Vice President Kamala Harris earlier this month was deceitfully edited.
In a statement released Sunday evening, the network called the claims "false," but did not directly respond to calls for the release of the full interview transcript.
Instead, the network again offered former President Donald Trump an opportunity to sit for a "60 Minutes interview."
"Our long-standing invitation to former President Trump remains open. If he would like to discuss the issues facing the nation and the Harris interview, we would be happy to have him on 60 Minutes," the statement said.
Parts of the Harris interview ran Oct. 7 on the news magazine and a day earlier on the Sunday morning political show "Face the Nation." The two segments depicted Harris giving different answers to questions posed by correspondent Bill Whitaker on the Biden administration's efforts to stop the war in the Mideast.
