Former NBA star Charles Barkley said Saturday he's never been more "angry and disgusted" by the continuing turmoil in President Donald Trump's administration.
"I've never been more angry and disgusted at this situation than I am now. This turmoil every single day — the tweeting, the hiring and firing," Barkley CNN's David Axelrod said in an interview for "The Axe Files."
"We have spent the last year talking about Russia every single day," Barkley also said. "Now we got Stormy [Daniels], now we got another girl, and I'm sitting here saying, 'When are we actually going to help the people?'"
"(We've) got the worst public school system in the world. People talk about economic opportunity; there's only economic opportunity if you're rich," Barkley said.
The constant chaos, Barkley added, is keeping real issues from being discussed, and he accused Trump of doing an "awful" job of caring about Americans of all demographics.
"Do we have some bad Hispanics?" Barkley said. "Of course, we do. Do we have some bad Muslims? Of course, we do. But I believe the majority of the Muslim people in this country are amazing, hard-working people. The President has done an awful job of trying to be inclusive."
Barkley said the Trump administration has also led to a situation in which people admire others who have money, but say "my life sucks" because they blame themselves because they are not wealthy.
"I want everybody to have a good job, I want their kids to go to school, I want their kids to be safe. I want everybody to have economic opportunity," he said.
