Krauthammer: Dems are 'Hypocrites,' Comey Backlash a Given

Democrats are born hypocrites and President Donald Trump should not be surprised at their outrage over the firing of FBI Director James Comey, Charles Krauthammer said Wednesday.

During an appearance on Fox News' "Special Report," the conservative commentator addressed the backlash Trump is receiving from the left stemming from his decision to hand Comey his walking papers.

"It's surprising that he should be surprised," Krauthammer said. "These people are hypocrites from the day of their birth. It's in their DNA. That's how they function. It was to be expected."

Mediaite posted a clip of Krauthammer's remarks.

"I assume the calculation was, Democrats don't like this guy. They accuse him of costing Hillary [Clinton] the election; so there won't be much of a blowback. Of course there will," Krauthammer said.

"Democrats are looking for an excuse to say that there's a great collusion conspiracy, and this is all being done in defense of that conspiracy."

Democrats claim Trump fired Comey because of the bureau's continued probe into whether the Trump campaign had an inappropriate relationship with the Russians. It was reported that Comey had asked for more funds to further the investigation before he was fired.
