Some members from Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign have expressed annoyance with FBI Director James Comey for not revealing his agency's investigation into potential collusion between Trump's campaign and Russia ahead of Election Day, Politico reports.

"Russia probe that Comey confirmed was, as best we can tell, in effect before Nov. 8," tweeted Clinton's former press secretary Brian Fallon about Comey's confirmation of a Russia probe Monday during a House Intelligence Committee hearing on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. "Fair to ask why he didn't think voters deserved to know."

Comey said Monday the investigation into Russia's meddling started in July.

"I've been authorized by the Department of Justice to confirm that the FBI, as part of our counterintelligence mission, is investigating the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the 2016 presidential election," Comey said. "That includes investigating the nature of any links between individuals associated with the Trump campaign and the Russian government, and whether there was any coordination between the campaign and Russia's efforts."

The fact that he didn't disclose the probe earlier enraged some Clinton aides because Comey just days ahead of the election said publicly that the FBI had found additional emails as part of the probe into Clinton's email servers.
