Conservative organization Club for Growth opposes House Republicans' Obamacare replacement bill, joining a host of other right-leaning groups and politicians who are unhappy with the piece of legislation.
The day after a draft of the American Health Care Act was posted online, Club for Growth President David McIntosh said in a statement his organization wants to see more from Republican lawmakers.
"The problems with this bill are not just what's in it, but also what's missing: namely, the critical free-market solution of selling health insurance across state lines," McIntosh said.
"Such an injection of competition would lead to hundreds of billions of dollars in savings, nullifying any argument by Congressional Republicans that this provision cannot be included in the current bill.
"If this warmed-over substitute for government-run health care remains unchanged, the Club for Growth will key vote against it. Republicans should be offering a full and immediate repeal of Obamacare's taxes, regulations, and mandates, an end to the Medicaid expansion, and inclusion of free-market reforms, like interstate competition."
In its statement, Club for Growth referred to the American Health Care Act as "Ryancare," a nod to House Speaker Paul Ryan.
Some conservative lawmakers are not happy with the bill either. Sen. Rand Paul has been very vocal about his desire for a full repeal of Obamacare, not simply a patch job of the current law.
He also wants to see a bill that is drastically different than the one signed into law by former President Barack Obama in 2010.
The American Health Care Act doesn't pass Paul's test.
