CNN's Cuomo: No Republicans Came to Defend Comey Ouster

Not one GOP lawmaker would come on CNN's morning show to defend President Donald Trump's termination of FBI Director James Comey, "New Day" host Chris Cuomo said Monday.

"It's worthy of note … on the Republican side, we invited all of the Republican leadership, you hear me? All of it." Cuomo said. “We tried to get dozens of different Republican lawmakers to come on the show. And often, we are often chock full, but not right now.

"We went o-fer this weekend, Cuomo said.

Cuomo went on to say Trump put the GOP leadership in a "pickle," but that "that's what leadership is about."

"If you choose to ignore, you are in effect empowering whatever you ignore," Cuomo said.
