More Americans favor spending on infrastructure improvements than they do spending on the military, according to a new CNN/ORC poll released Wednesday.

The list breaks down President Donald Trump's budget proposals by popularity, including:

  • 84 percent favor reducing taxes for middle-class Americans.
  • 79 percent favor increase spending on infrastructure.
  • 54 percent favor reducing tax rates for American businesses.
  • 58 percent disapprove increasing military spending while cutting funding for State Department, Environmental Protection Agency, and other non-defense agencies.
  • 61 percent disapprove funding Mexico border wall.
  • Seven out of 10 Republicans support all proposals, while only two out of 10 Democrats support.
  • Fifty-seven percent say economic growth is more important than cutting down the deficit, according to a majority of those who took the poll.

A majority of voters who consider themselves independent do not approve of funding a Mexico border wall or increasing military spending, the poll results showed.

The poll was conducted on March 1-4, 2017 among 1,025 adult Americans, with a sampling error margin of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
