An apparent Donald Trump supporter was so unhappy with all of Colorado's Republican delegate votes going to Texas Sen. Ted Cruz that he says he's finished with the party.
The video, which was posted on Trump's Twitter account, shows an older man in what appears to be a kitchen. Wearing a t-shirt and a hat, he says he's "still fuming over what happened this morning in Colorado Springs with the GOPE."
Over the weekend, Cruz took all 34 of
Colorado's GOP delegates at the state's Republican convention. Trump declined to attend the event, and on Monday he said
"the system is rigged" in the Centennial State.
"This is a copy of my Republican Party registration. Republican Party, take note. I think you're gonna see a whole lot more of these," says the man in the video, who then lights the registration on fire.
"I've been a Republican all my life, but I will never be a Republican again. What do you think's gonna happen with millions more like me do the exact same thing? Goodbye, GOP. I will not be forced to vote for somebody that I don't want to.
"You've had it, you're done, you're toast. I quit. I quit the party. For the time being, I'll be independent. I'm voting for Trump, and the hell with the Republican Party."
Some have suggested Trump's campaign does not have a good enough handle on the delegate process, a claim the campaign denies. Last week, for example, the campaign sent out an email urging supporters to register as a potential delegate. The email, however, went out
two days after the deadline.
