A conservative group wants to see Senate Majority leader Mitch McConnell voted out of his position of leadership in the chamber.

As reported by The Hill, the Senate Conservatives Fund emailed its supporters and asked them to put pressure on Republican senators to have McConnell removed.

"Mitch McConnell is making excuses and blaming others while the Senate is on a month-long recess," the email reads.

"The problem isn't that the president hasn't been in his job very long; it's that McConnell has been in his job for too long!"

The email lists examples of when conservatives like President Donald Trump and media pundits have called out McConnell for failing to accomplish certain things in the Senate chamber.

"The Senate is in recess until September so this is the best time to send senators a message while they are at home," the email reads.

"Help us make sure they go back to Washington in a few weeks with a new perspective on their leader. He's giving Senate Republicans a bad name and must be replaced before any more time is wasted."

Earlier this week, McConnell suggested Trump had "excessive expectations" when he entered the White House regarding how quickly things get done in politics. Trump has since criticized him multiple times on his Twitter account and during a press conference Thursday.
