Conservative groups are amped and ready to pounce in support of Rep. Marsha Blackburn's run to replace the retiring Bob Corker in the Senate, the Washington Examiner reports.
All they need now is for Blackburn to decide to run.
While the eight-term congresswoman mulls, conservatives churn.
"We are very encouraged that Congresswoman Blackburn is inching toward getting into the race," Citizens United President David Bossie told the Examiner. "Others are going to have to take a very close look at the race with her in it. I would think there will not be much oxygen for others to get in."
Blackburn also enjoys a lifetime score of 90 percent from Club for Growth, besting Corker's 80 percent.
Corker recently announced he will not seek re-election in 2018 after his second term is up.
Blackburn, if she decides to run, could face competition in the Republican primary from Gov. Bill Haslam, who is also mulling a run.
