Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski on Friday slammed former FBI Director James Comey's denials that he was a leaker for providing information about a meeting he had with President Donald Trump to a Columbia University law professor who later gave it to the news media.

"This reminds me of a day where we were asking Bill Clinton what is is," Lewandowski told Sandra Smith on Fox News.

"He asked Jim Comey what is a leak — and Jim Comey said: 'I didn't leak information. I gave information out that I wrote as a director of the FBI to a person to give it to the media.'

"Every other person in America will call that a leak, but Jim Comey says it's not a leak," Lewandowski said.

Comey sparred with Fox's Bret Baier in an interview Thursday over whether he had leaked information to the law professor, Daniel Richman, who later provided it to The New York Times, after Trump fired him in May 2017.

Here's the exchange:

Comey: "I sent Mr. Richman a copy of a two-page unclassified memo and asked him to get the substance of it out to the media."

Baier: "Did you leak other things?"

Comey: "I don't consider what I did with Mr. Richman a leak. I told him about an unclassified conversation with the president and didn't consider it an FBI file.

Baier: "You wrote it as the FBI director. It was work product."

Comey: "No, it was not."

Baier: "You said: 'I don't do sneaky things. I don't do moves.' That's a leak, isn't it?"

Comey: "No, it isn't."

Comey has come under repeated attacks by President Trump and other White House staffers and supporters over whether he was a leaker in providing the information to Richman.

Lewandowski was another Trump ally to bash Comey.

He said Comey said, "'I gave it to a friend,'" but it turned out to be "a person who we now understand had a special government access pass to get into the FBI, a person who now we understand got information which was classified.

"And those memorandums had to be returned back to the FBI for sensitivity reasons, for classification reasons.

"And Jim Comey, because he has this 'messiah complex,' has decided what is classified and what isn't and what should and shouldn't be in the public," Lewandowski said.

"That is what has been wrong with him in the FBI."
