A new super PAC supporting Texas Sen. Ted Cruz is shelling out $4.2 million on a TV advertising campaign in Iowa and South Carolina, reports say.
Stand For Truth, formed six weeks ago,
Red State reports, is launching a $2.1 million buy in Iowa on Jan. 13 and a $2.1 million in South Carolina beginning Jan. 27.
"As one of the two frontrunners heading into the final weeks before voting begins, Sen. Cruz is under attack from all directions and will be for the remainder of this election," Eric Lycan, a lawyer for the super PAC, said, Politico reports. "Stand for Truth is here to make sure an accurate message reaches voters."
The spending spree is in addition to a $1 million media buy from the Keep the Promise group of Cruz super PACs in Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina.
