Incoming California congressman Darrell Issa told Fox News on Tuesday that Sen. Kamala Harris, D-Calif., “has no track record of effective legislation,” or bipartisanship.
Harris “has no track record of effective legislation," Issa told Fox News. "I don't see her as being a bridge. President [Joe] Biden will have to be his own bridge. I don't see the vice president as having those skills or desire. I think she's running for president within his doors from day one. It'd be nice to be wrong, but I don't think so.”
He said that although he managed to have a working relationship with California’s other Democratic senator, Dianne Feinstein, Harris “didn't work with anyone [from the GOP] when she got here.”
Issa added: “Name a bipartisan bill she did with a Republican."
GovTrack’s page for Harris has her “ranked most politically left” of all the senators in Congress last year. It also notes that only 15% of the bills she cosponsored in 2019 were introduced by a non-Democrat, and only eight of the 54 bills she introduced were cosponsored by a member of a different party.
