Former Ku Klux Klan Grand Wizard David Duke applauded President-elect Donald Trump's selection of Gen. Michael Flynn as his national security adviser, The Hill reports.
Duke, citing an anti-Semitic tweet Flynn had shared in July, called the retired general a "great pick," according to The Hill.
Flynn had retweeted someone who had defended Russia after reports the Kremlin was behind the hacking of Democratic emails. He later apologized for the retweet, saying he meant to share a news article.
But that didn't curb Duke's praise for Trump's selection.
Posting on Twitter, Duke also applauded Flynn's son and chief of staff Michael G. Flynn.
The younger Flynn often makes racially-charged statements and shared conspiracy theories on social media, The Hill noted.
