House Democrats have latched onto the numerous town hall protests against Republicans as a hook to attack the GOP in a new Twitter ad campaign, The Hill reported.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is launching the campaign in 23 GOP-held district ahead of the midterms, hoping to stir up voters who might be affected by Republicans' plans to repeal and replace Obamacare, The Hill reported.

Republican lawmakers across the country have stared down angry constituents over their intention to dismantle Obamacare, prompting some to cancel the town hall-style gatherings or hold virtual town halls.

Democrats think they have an opportunity they can expose.

"House Republicans' reckless vote to rip apart the Affordable Care Act without a replacement is causing widespread backlash in their districts," DCCC spokesman Tyler Law told The Hill.

The ads will be produced in English and Spanish and will target 6 GOP lawmakers in districts in Texas, Florida, Colorado and California, The Hill reported.
