The Deep State seeking to undermine President Donald Trump is the closest America has come to having an all-out coup of the president, according to House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
"This is the closest this country has ever come to having a coup," McCarthy told Sunday's "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y. "And we can never allow any person who becomes president — Republican, Democrat, Green Party, or other — to go through the fear of what just happened."
McCarthy pointed to the Justice Department's inspector general investigation of the investigators, saying they need to be held accountable for their law-breaking in pursuing the president.
"We cannot allow individuals to do that again," McCarthy told host John Catsimatidis. "And we need to get to the bottom of it. And people need to be held accountable."
The pursuit of President Trump is not only damaging to the administration and U.S. leadership, but it is hurting the country.
"Democrats are more concerned with tearing the president down than building America up," McCarthy said.
