In a Tuesday morning tweet, President Donald Trump slammed Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden for forgetting Sen. Mitt Romney's name and saying he was running for the Senate, claiming the former vice president's "dementia" is "getting worse."

"Mitt can't be thrilled about this! Joe also said yesterday he's running for the U.S. Senate (again) and totally forgot where he was (wrong State!)," Trump wrote, sharing a tweet from lawyer and conservative commentator Mark Levin.

The president continued: "Joe has never been a nice or kind guy, so it's easier to find this obvious & rapidly getting worse 'dementia' unacceptable for USA!"

In one of the incidents Trump was commenting on, Biden was asked by a reporter whether it would be appropriate to question Judge Amy Coney Barrett's Catholic faith in her Senate confirmation hearings.

Biden responded by saying he "got in trouble" for questioning a political figure's faith before "when we were running against that senator who was a Mormon, the governor," seemingly unable to recall Romney's name.

The Democrat nominee also recently said he was running for the Senate at a rally in Ohio, according to the New York Post. "You know, we have to come together. That's why I'm running. I'm running as a proud Democrat for the Senate, when I ran as a proud Democrat for vice president, and I'm running as a proud Democrat for president," Biden said.

Trump responded to the latest of Biden's many gaffes both on Twitter and at his campaign rally in Florida Monday, saying Biden "had a bad day."

Trump and his allies have often questioned Biden's mental fitness. Pro-Trump ads have highlighted clips of the former vice president stumbling over his words, and Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani has also recently claimed Biden is suffering from dementia and might be taking the ADHD drug Adderall.
