A Known Globalist Explains the Key Problem with the U.S. - It's The1st Amendment

Recently, during the United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York, there was a discussion that should make your blood run cold.

The panel discussion, hosted by the (WEF) World Economic Forum’s Sustainable Development Impact Meetings," featured former U.S. senator, Democratic presidential candidate, and Secretary of State, John Kerry.

Kerry’s remarks revealed his (and the globalist’s) complete disdain for the very system that makes their power possible: democracy.

He made it clear that democracy, with its checks, balances, and protections for individual freedoms, was the key problem impeding the progress of the WEF agenda.

The solution?

Censorship, control, and the silencing of dissent.

This mindset is not new.

In fact, it’s the age-old promise of utopia or a better tomorrow, used by both communists and fascists.

The only problem is that this better world always comes at a terrible price: the death of individual freedoms.

Globalist Dream: Crush the Free Press:

One of the most alarming elements of Kerry’s remarks was his open contempt for free speech. He lamented that (today) "people can go and self-select where they get their news." He was speaking of social media and various channels that would not be on his approved list.

The "problem" as he explained, was that many of the channels people visit today are "sick" and promoting misinformation. This is clearly an attack on the lifeblood of democracy: debate, dissent, and the free flow of information.

To the globalist elite, the press is not an independent institution that holds the vast power of government in check and accountable; rather, it’s an impediment to their ability to sell the masses on a vision of a better tomorrow.

Kerry even complained that the First Amendment itself — was a "major impediment" to the ability to silence voices he/they don’t agree with.

This sentiment has always been the marker of totalitarianism.

As Vladimir Lenin once said, "The press should be. . . a collective propagandist and agitator, (and also) collective organizer of the masses."

In Lenin’s view, the press was a tool of the government/ruling class to manipulate and control the masses.

There are many today in the U.S. who have adopted this viewpoint and are trying to silence dissent and control what we hear, see and believe.

The Founding Fathers understood the main danger a free populace would face would be the government itself.

That’s why they designed a system where power is unwieldy and distributed across three branches of government and where a free press serves as a watchdog over the vast power of leviathan (the government).

The free press is a vital foundation of democracy meant to expose, not enable, the ambitions of the few.

The first step for any would-be dictator, whether fascist or communist, is to crush the free press. Hannah Arendt, in "The Origins of Totalitarianism," put it well, "Totalitarianism begins with... the notion: Things must change — no matter how. The only thing that counts is change." This promise of utopia is always used to justify suppressing freedoms, including the free press.

False Cure: Promising Utopia, Delivering Tyranny

The real danger to our political system is not the divisiveness of politics, the diversity of opinion, or social media — it’s the global elites who are working to consolidate power while cloaked in the flag of good intentions.

Kerry himself voiced this concern, saying he was worried about democracy in the U.S. because it can’t "move fast enough" or "big enough" to handle today’s crises. This impatience with democracy’s messy deliberation is what fuels their desire for centralized control. But the so-called cure they propose — control over information and decision-making — would only accelerate the march toward tyranny.

F.A. Hayek warned in "The Road to Serfdom," "The most important change which extensive government control produces is a psychological change, an alteration in the character of the people."

The more power is concentrated, the less free the people become.

Freedom Remains Fragile

These globalist ambitions reveal the fragility of freedom in the face of concentrated power.

History has shown that democracy is rare and easily destroyed.

For most of human history, people lived under the rule of kings, dictators or oligarchs. Today, billions still live under regimes that crush freedom in the name of security or progress.

The founding fathers knew that liberty was always under threat.

They understood that freedom must be defended against both external enemies and internal threats, especially those who seek to consolidate power under the guise of creating a better world.

As Benjamin Franklin warned, "Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

Totalitarianism’s Two Faces

Totalitarianism, whether from the far left or far right — follows a familiar pattern. Both sides argue that democracy is too flawed and too slow to handle the complexities of the modern world and the crisis du jour.

The problem for the future dictator is always the same: democracy stands in the way of their desire for unchecked power.

We as a populace must fall back in love with democracy.

To remember that freedom of speech, a free press, and the right to choose where we get our information are not problems, but rather, the foundation of a healthy democracy.

Democracy is messy. Period!

As Winston Churchill once remarked, "Democracy is the worst form of government, except for all the others."

Democracy's End Comes with a Promise

The totalitarian can’t openly sell their real vision, so they create a crisis or a dystopian future. Of course, to save us, they must have increased (don’t worry, it will be temporary) power.

The reduction of personal freedoms never comes as a direct attack. It is always presented as a solution to a vital and urgent problem, a way to ensure security, safety, or progress.

In "Brave New World," Aldous Huxley prophetically wrote, "The surest way to work up a crusade in favor of some good cause is to promise people they will have the chance of maltreating someone. . . To be able to behave badly and call your bad behavior 'righteous indignation' — this is the height of psychological luxury."

The greatest threat to freedom is not the barbarians at the gates, but rather those who come with the promise of a brighter future — while quietly slipping a leash around our throat and a muzzle over our mouth.
