Democrats Spoke for Middle Class, Partied Like Upper Class

At the Democratic National Convention, speaker after speaker talked about what they would do for the middle class. But the parties were a different story.

Events were held at the Four Seasons, the Ritz-Carlton, and the Waldorf-Astoria, considered to be among the ritziest spots in Chicago, according to the Wall Street Journal while artists like Wyclef Jean, The Killers, and Shaggy performed.

United Airlines rented out the 99th floor of Willis Tower Monday for a party that featured empanadas and allowed guests to go up to the 103rd floor to stand on "The Ledge," glass-floored balconies perched 4.3 feet outside of the building, the Journal reported.

Another party was called "Hotties for Harris" and featured guests playing "Abortion Access Skeeball" and offered condoms with wrappers that read "Prevents Unwanted Pregnancy," according to the Journal.

A Trump building in Chicago was not spared, with Democrats projecting messages on the tower that read "Project 2025 HQ" and "Harris Walz, Joy and Hope," the Journal reported.

The Ritz hosted a 78th birthday party for Bill Clinton, featuring longtime friends and colleagues like former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and longtime Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, Anthony Weiner's ex-wife, the Journal reported.

It often took more than two hours for people to get into the United Center, the Journal reported, forcing Democrats to wait in long lines.

"How is this less organized than Lollapalooza?" one conventiongoer asked, according to the Journal.
