Schumer: GOP Proposals Will 'Make America Sick Again'

Democrats are powerless from preventing Republicans from blowing up Obamacare, so they've had to resort to the next best thing — catchy finger-pointing.

To wit, the Democrats' new slogan: "Republicans are going to make America sick again," The Washington Post reported.

Minority leaders Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, after meeting with President Barack Obama on how to preserve his legacy healthcare bill, disseminated a memo to every Democrat on Capitol Hill on Wednesday to inform them of their new talking points.

"Instead of fulfilling their promise to 'repeal and replace' the Affordable Care Act, Republicans are going to make America sick again by offering no health care plan to the American people and actually dismantling Medicare, Medicaid as well as the ACA," read the memo.

The three-page memo highlights eight different ways the GOP's plan to replace the ACA would send Americans "from care to chaos," according to the Post.

1. "Increase healthcare costs."
2. "Put insurance companies back in charge."
3. "Cause Premiums to skyrocket."
4. "Unravel the insurance market."
5. "Damage local hospitals."
6. "Provide tax breaks for millionaires."
7. "Hurt middle class families."
8. "Exacerbate the opioid epidemic."

President-elect Donald Trump earlier Wednesday cautioned Republicans to "be careful" supplanting Obamacare to ensure that "Dems own the failed ObamaCare disaster, with its poor coverage and massive premium increases."

"Don't let the Schumer clowns out of this web," Trump tweeted.
