Former Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick is giving another sign of a potential 2020 run for president with a trip to Texas this weekend.

The Boston Globe reported that Patrick, a Democrat who served from 2007-2015, will stump for Democratic House candidate Colin Allred, who is challenging Republican Rep. Pete Sessions, on Sunday. Patrick will also meet with Rep. Beto O'Rourke, D-Texas, who is running for the Senate seat currently occupied by Republican Sen. Ted Cruz.

And on Monday, according to the Globe, Patrick will speak at the NAACP convention in San Antonio.

Patrick campaigned for Sen. Doug Jones, D-Ala., last year. According to Politico, he has made other trips that garnered little media attention as he tests his message ahead of a potential White House run. Patrick will reportedly decide by the end of this year whether he plans to launch a presidential campaign.

CNBC reported earlier this year, meanwhile, that several Democratic donors are encouraging Patrick to throw his hat into the ring and run for president.

Patrick worked in the Clinton administration as an assistant attorney general for the Civil Rights Division from 1994-1997.
