The Democrats' race for the presidential nomination will likely end up with a Bernie Sanders-Elizabeth Warren ticket, while Joe Biden and Mike Bloomberg will "go into the dustbin of history," Dick Morris, a former adviser for Bill and Hillary Clinton, told Newsmax TV Monday.
"I think that this race is headed now to a Sanders victory, a Sanders majority, and a Sanders-Warren ticket," Morris told Newsmax TV's Chris Salcedo.
As for this week's Super Tuesday primaries, Morris predicted that Sanders will take the overall win with about 40% of the vote, followed by Biden at 25% to 28%, and Bloomberg and Warren at about 17% or 18%. He added that he thinks Bloomberg will place third and Warren will take fourth place.
However, Morris said there are some variables, including Warren polling "very strong" in California, and even though Sanders has been polling higher in Texas, but Biden may still end up "coming on strong.
The race, meanwhile, has become one "between two tickets; the Sanders-Warren ticket versus the Biden-Bloomberg ticket," following the departures of Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Amy Klobuchar, and Tom Steyer, said Morris.
"Ultimately. Warren's votes at the convention will go to Sanders," he said. "They're ideologically compatible...and their supporters would each be happy with going to the other one."
Biden, meanwhile, may have to hope that Bloomberg delivers his votes to him, said Morris, predicting that once the votes are tallied at the convention this summer, the Sanders/Warren side will net 56% of the vote and the Biden-Bloomberg side will get 44%.
It's also "very likely" that Sanders could get the 1,191 delegates to win the nomination outright, Morris acknowledged.
