Republican nominee Donald Trump on Tuesday said former President George W. Bush's decision to not vote for him was sad, but that he didn't think it had any impact on the presidential race.
"I think it's sad, you know. When I see George Bush do that, and look I was very critical of him for getting us into Iraq, which was obviously a horrible decision, and getting out the way Obama got us out was a horrible way to get out too — the combination," Trump said on the "Howie Carr Show" on WRKO, according to CNN. "I don't think it has any impact, frankly. I think it has no impact."
Bush and wife, Laura, did not vote for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, either, despite a report Monday by conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh that they did.
The two left their ballots blank in that section and voted Republican on the remainder of the ticket. Bush's father, George H.W. Bush had privately told friends that he would vote for Clinton, and Jeb Bush, George W. Bush's brother, told CNN last week that he would keep his vote private.
Former first lady Barbara Bush publicly criticized Trump last April, questioning how women could vote for him after the things he said about Megyn Kelly.
"He's like a comedian, a showman," Bush said.
Jeb Bush's son, Texas land commissioner George P. Bush, did vote for Trump and urged Republicans to back him.
