Donald Trump has a slim lead over Hillary Clinton among Florida voters, according to a new poll in the Sunshine State.

A Florida Atlantic University Business and Economics Polling Initiative survey found Trump has 43 percent support in the state, with Clinton 2 points behind him in the race for president.

Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson garnered 8 percent support in the survey.

Other key findings from the poll:

  • 56 percent of registered voters gave Trump an unfavorable rating.
  • 58 percent gave Clinton an unfavorable rating.
  • Trump has the most support among male voters (46 percent), while Clinton leads among women (45 percent).
  • Trump holds a strong lead over Clinton among white voters, 49 percent to 33 percent.
  • Clinton has a significant lead among African-Americans (68 percent to 20 percent) and is up 10 points among Hispanics (50 percent to 40 percent).

"The race between Clinton and Trump among Hispanics in Florida is closer than it is nationally," said Monica Escaleras of the Business and Economics Polling Initiative.

"Some of that is probably the Cuban vote. Trump's support among Latinos in Florida is helping him stay competitive."

A new Reuters poll, meanwhile, showed Clinton with a 45 percent to 33 percent lead over Trump among likely voters at the national level.
