President Donald Trump should pay more attention to what his more politically experienced Republican colleagues are saying, according to most GOP voters.

A new poll from Pew Research Center found that more than half of Republicans and Americans who lean Republican think Trump should listen more to the experienced members of his party, with only 34 percent saying he should listen less.

  • 58 percent say Trump should listen more.
  • 34 percent say Trump should listen less.

Among conservatives, the numbers leaned more towards Trump, while moderates and liberals were much more likely to say Trump should listen more.

  • 52 percent of conservatives said to listen more.
  • 40 percent said to listen less.
  • 70 percent of moderates and liberals said to listen more.
  • 23 percent said listen less.

"In his first seven months as president, Donald Trump has generally drawn high job approval ratings among Republicans," Pew Research Center notes. "But a new survey finds that nearly a third of Republicans say they agree with the president on only a few or no issues, while a majority expresses mixed or negative feelings about his conduct as president."

  • 45 percent agree with Trump on no issues or almost no issues;
  • 21 percent agree with Trump on a few issues;
  • 18 percent agree on many, but not all, issues;
  • 15 percent agree with Trump on all issues.

Republicans and those who lean Republican are much more likely, at 69 percent, to say they agree with Trump on at least some issues, while Democrats and those leaning Democrat are extremely unlikely, at 6 percent, to say they agree with Trump on any issues.
