President-elect Donald Trump will work to repeal and replace Obamacare as soon as he takes office, Vice President-elect Mike Pence told Chris Wallace on "Fox News Sunday."

"He wants to focus out of the gate on repealing Obamacare and beginning the process of replacing Obamacare with the kind of free market solutions that he campaigned on," said Pence. "From there, we'll work on issues ranging from ending illegal immigration, reviving our economy through tax reform, rebuilding the military, restoring the infrastructure of this country. But I do hope to continue to play a supportive role to take president-elect Donald Trump's agenda to Capitol Hill and work with leaders, frankly, in both political parties to move the country forward and make America great again."

Trump campaigned on the promise that he would get rid of the Affordable Care Act, calling it an economic burden and "terrible legislation." He also said he would enable a free market and, require price transparency from all healthcare providers.

On "60 Minutes" last Sunday, Trump softened his stance a bit on Obamacare, saying he would aim to keep certain aspects – including a rule where health insurance companies can't refuse to cover people with pre-existing conditions.
