President Donald Trump is launching a new political action committee dedicated to helping a Republican challenger defeat GOP Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., in a primary next year, Axios reported.
Massie on Sunday hit out at Trump over his missile strike on Iran that took place over the weekend, calling it "not Constitutional" in a social media post on X. He was also one of the only House Republicans who voted against Trump's wide-ranging domestic policy and tax bill last month.
Trump fired back at the Massie in a social media post of his own, saying Massie is "not MAGA" and calling the Kentucky congressman "weak" and "ineffective" as well as "disrespectful to our great military, and all that they stand for." Trump added in a later post, "GET THIS 'BUM' OUT OF OFFICE, ASAP!!!"
The PAC, Kentucky MAGA, will be headed by two of Trump's top advisers, Tony Fabrizio and Chris LaCivita, who told the news outlet that they plan to spend "whatever it takes" to oust Massie.
"Massie's longtime opposition to President Trump's working family tax cuts — and really anything to do with President Trump — is coming to an end," LaCivita told Axios in a statement. "Thomas 'Little Boy' Massie will be fired."
Massie said in a statement, "Any serious person considering running should spend money on an independent poll before letting swampy consultants take them for an embarrassing ride."
