Donald Trump took to Twitter late Wednesday after Ted Cruz was booed off the stage of the Republican National Convention for refusing to endorse him — noting that he did see the speech in advance "but let him speak anyway."

Here's the nominee's tweet:

In his 20-minute speech, Cruz congratulated Trump for becoming the nominee on Tuesday — but only mentioned his name once.

The senator's refusal led New York delegates to chant "endorse Trump, endorse Trump," and they led others in booing Cruz.

He also encouraged Republicans to "vote your conscience" in November.

"Stand, and speak, and vote your conscience," Cruz said. "Vote for candidates up and down the ticket who you trust to defend our freedom and to be faithful to the Constitution."
