President Donald Trump’s approval rating remains high in five key battleground states less than a week ahead of the midterm elections, according to a new Fox News poll.
The president’s rating stands at or above 50 percent in Arizona, Missouri, North Dakota, Tennessee and Indiana, where at least two Senate races will come down to the wire.
Republicans hold leads in Tennessee – Marsha Blackburn over Phil Bredesen, 50-41 – and North Dakota – Democratic incumbent Sen. Heidi Heitkamp trails Kevin Cramer, 51 to 42 percent – but are nearly tied in Indiana, Arizona and Missouri.
Democrat Kyrsten Sinema and Republican Martha McSally are tied at 46 percent in Arizona, with 93 percent of Democrats backing Sinema and 85 percent of Republicans backing McSally.
In Missouri, where 54 percent approve of Trump’s job performance, Democratic incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill is tied at 43 percent with Republican challenger Josh Hawley.
In Indiana, incumbent Democrat Sen. Joe Donnelly leads Republican challenger Mike Braun, 45-38 percent in a race that one month ago had Braun in the lead.
The Fox News poll was conducted October 27-30, with interviewers among likely voters in Indiana, North Dakota, Tennessee, Missouri and Arizona.
