Donald Trump is offering donors to his presidential campaign autographed copies of his 1987 best-selling book "The Art of the Deal," while sales of the three-decade-old roadmap to business success continue to do well.

Trump, in his fundraising appeal emailed to supporters on Tuesday, saith the book hit No. 1 on the New York Times best seller list when it was first released and stayed on the list for 51 weeks.

Saying that the business principles espoused in the book remain true today, Trump says, "I've signed an out-of-print, hardcover copy of 'The Art of the Deal' just for you, because I want you on board with Team Trump! JOIN the movement today, with a contribution of $184 or more, and my assistant will drop it in the mail to you."

"Art of the Deal" was re-released in paperback in October after his bid for the Republican presidential nomination was taking off. On Tuesday, it was ranked No. 304 in all books, No. 3 in Entrepreneurship and No. 4 in two categories: Business memoirs and Rich & Famous memoirs.

According to Nielsen BookScan, "Art of the Deal" has sold 61,924 copies this year. Last year, BookScan listed 177,000 copies sold in all its editions since 2001 when the company started collecting book sales data. Only point-of-purchase sales, or 85 percent of sales, are counte..

Trump proclaimed "Art of the Deal" the best-selling business book of all time in early July 2015, not long after launching his presidential bid, but Politifact disputed the assertion, saying it is difficult to rank business books since they include everything from "memoirs and essays to financial tips and management strategies."

According to Politifact, Trump's book has sold about 1 million copies, which ranks it near the top, but other books have performed better, including "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie and "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey.
