Russia's embassy in London took a shot Thursday at President Barack Obama, saying everyone will be happy to see him leave the White House for good in a few weeks.

The tweet came after the Obama administration announced sanctions on Russia stemming from its alleged involvement in the U.S. presidential election.

Thirty-five "Russian intelligence operatives" from the Russian embassy in Washington, D.C., and its consulate in San Francisco are required to leave the U.S. within 72 hours, according to an order by Obama.

The State Department is also shutting down Russian compounds in New York and Maryland that are used for "intelligence-related purposes."
