DiGenova: Comey Should Lay Low, But May Align With Dems

Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight"

Fired FBI Director James Comey should stay out of sight for a while, but his huge ego likely will not allow that to happen, former U.S. prosecutor Joe diGenova said Tuesday.

"He is so self-centered and so full of himself that God only knows what he's going to say," diGenova told Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."

"If you were smart, which I'm not sure he is, he would disappear for a while, but I'm not sure he has it in him," DiGenova said. "What he may do is make common cause with the Democrats and try to save his reputation, whatever that is . . . saying he should not have been fired."

Democrats will go along, he said, because they "can do anything. They are not bound by principal. As they say in the business, you cannot rely on them to think about principle."

Instead, he said, Democrats will use Comey's firing to take advantage and "resist the president, tear him down, and criticize him for this decision. It's what you say about Democrats is true, if it weren't for double standards, they'd have no standards at all."
