Former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, hailed by some as a victim of special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, is stepping up appearances before selected groups, Politico is reporting.

He spoke at a private event Thursday hosted by the London Center for Policy Research and appeared onstage last month to endorse a Republican congressional candidate, according to Politico.

All this comes after Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia.

"I'm doing great," Flynn told Politico on Thursday. "I don't want to talk to you."

After his most recent appearance, his brother, Joseph, said: "General Flynn is moving on with his life and this speech is part of that endeavor. There are lots of people who want to hear his voice again."

A spokesman for the London Center said Michael Flynn had not been paid for his appearance.

Just last month, Flynn received a standing ovation at a campaign event for Republican candidate Omar Navarro, who is trying to unseat Democrat Rep. Maxine Waters in California.

"It's the beginning of a comeback tour for Michael Flynn," said Jack Burkman, a GOP lobbyist.

Burkman has hosted events to promote a legal defense fund for Flynn, Politico said.

Meanwhile, Flynn appears to be cautious during his appearances.

"What I'm not here to do is, I'm not here to complain about who has done me wrong or how unfair I've been treated or how unfair the entire process has been," he said at the campaign event. "It is what it is. And my previous statements they stand for themselves."
