Rep. Mark Meadows, R-N.C., chairman of the House Freedom Caucus, isn't worried about losing his seat the 2018 election if Congress does not repeal Obamacare, The Hill reports.

"I serve at the pleasure of the people of western North Carolina, and when you serve at their pleasure, it's only those 750,000 people that can send you home," Meadows said.

"It's a temporary job, and I've known that from day one."

His comments came after President Donald Trump warned Republican lawmakers to vote for repeal of Obamacare on Thursday or risk losing their seats and the House majority in 2018, according to the Hill

"I believe many of you will lose in 2018," Trump said at the GOP conference.

And Politico reports that multiple sources said that Trump singled out Meadows, who has led conservative opposition to the GOP healthcare plan, and said: "I'm gonna come after you."

However, the sources said Trump may have been "half-joking."

Still, Meadows and Rep. Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, another member of the conservative Freedom Caucus, said after Trump's address they remain opposed to the bill, the Hill reports.

"I'm still a no, because the bill we're currently considering does not lower premiums for the vast majority of Americans," Meadows said.

And Politico reported Rep. Scott DesJarlais, R-Tenn., another member of the caucus, said he wasn't moved by Trump's comments.

"When we get it right, I'll be there," DesJarlais said of the healthcare plan. "If he's going to put his name on this we need it to work."
