President Donald Trump’s job approval remains at 49%, according to a new Gallup poll.

It ties his highest job approval rating yet for the president, who had scored the same mark in a Gallup poll released Feb. 4.

His disapproval rating in the current poll is 48%.

Gallup speculated Trump’s approval rating may be high because of the Senate acquitting him in the impeachment trial. American’s generally positive perceptions of the state of the nation  also are listed as a contributing factor.

Here are the highlights from the current Gallup poll:

  • 45% say they are satisfied with the way things are going in the U..S. –  the highest mark in the poll since Feb. 2005.
  • 63% say current economic conditions are either excellent or good. Nine percent rate them as poor.
  • 23% approve of the way Congress is performing its job compared to 74% who disapprove.

The poll, conducted Feb. 3-16, surveyed 1,028 adults. It has a margin of error of plus or minus 4 percentage points.
