Large crowds of protesters gathered outside the Georgia State Capitol Saturday as part of a nationwide “Stop the Steal” protests.
Georgia on Friday certified results in the state for Democrat Joe Biden following a hand recount. The count affirmed Biden won by more than 12,000 votes out of about 5 million cast, according to data released by Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger’s office.
Gov. Brian Kemp, a Republican, also certified the results but said he would permit President Donald Trump’s legal team to officially call for a recount.
The move will "formalize the certification," but it "paves the way for the Trump campaign to pursue other legal options and a separate recount if they choose," Kemp said Friday night.
Trump’s campaign has two business days from the certification date to request a recount.
Several news outlets have declared Biden the President-Elect. Trump has refused to concede, citing voter fraud. Newsmax will not project a winner until enough states certify votes and get one candidate to 270 Electoral College votes.
