Conservative commentator Glenn Beck blasted President-elect Donald Trump's top adviser Steve Bannon Monday, saying on TheBlaze TV that he's a racist — and Americans will be racist if they welcome him into Trump's White House.
"If you know Steve Bannon's agenda, his vision of America, it's not pretty," Beck said.
Mediaite posted a clip of Beck's comments.
Bannon used to serve as the executive chairman for the website Breitbart but has since left his post because of his work with Trump's campaign and, starting in January, his role in Trump's administration.
"You just need to know that Breitbart is and has been state-run TV," Beck asserted.
"When people really understand what the alt-right is, this neo-nationalist, neo-Nazi, white supremacy idea that Bannon is pushing hard, I hope they wake up because, if not, we are racist. If that's what we accept and we know it, then we are racist. I contend people don't know what the alt-right is yet."
Beck, who has also called Bannon a "terrifying man," is not alone in criticizing his place in Trump's White House. Sen. Chuck Schumer said he is an "unacceptable choice" and outgoing Sen. Harry Reid said Trump should rethink his decision to have Bannon serve as his top advisor.
