Republican political committees spent about $1.3 million at President Donald Trump's entities in 2017, The Washington Post reported.
About $473,000 of the money came from 25 congressional campaigns, state parties and the Republican Governors Association. The money was spent at Trump hotels or golf courses, a Post analysis of campaign finance filing revealed.
The newspaper said another $793,000 came from the Republican National Committee and the president's campaign committee, which included payments for legal consulting and rent.
Word of the expenditures comes as charities continue to cancel events planned for President Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida.
At least eight organizations have canceled events at the property in the wake of the backlash over Trump's controversial comments on the violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, CNN noted.
