Fox News host Sean Hannity on Monday doubts President Donald Trump will have any blowback from the court system if he declares a national emergency over border wall funding.

“The emergency is this shouldn't be that hard to figure out because when you have that many people that are that many — that are victims of crime happening in this country, that should be enough of a national emergency,” he said on his radio show, “The Sean Hannity Show.”

“I’m guessing he’s going to declare a national emergency,” the host added.

Trump on Sunday told reporters he might declare a national emergency imminently to secure money for his border wall and circumvent Congress and the White House, on Monday, declared that the U.S. Army will be the main contractor building the barrier.

“If the president declares a national emergency, the Army Corps of Engineers will kick into high gear,” a White House official said. “They're already handing out contracts, and that would speed up a lot.”

Hannity said the “criminal aliens” that commit crimes in the U.S. shouldn’t be allowed to stay in the U.S.

“We're not talking about people that want to work, have productive lives, build their families, but still didn't obey our immigration laws or respect our borders, but those that then commit crimes and then get aid and — they get aid and support, they're aided and abetted by politicians who adopt sanctuary policies that forbids and prevents ICE from following and literally implementing federal law and deporting them,” he said.
