Hillary Clinton has released a new TV ad ripping into Donald Trump and claiming she's the Democrat who's "tough enough" to beat the billionaire businessman in the race for the White House.

The spot slams Trump, the Republican presidential front-runner, for saying women should be "punished" for having abortions — a comment he later took back after it sparked outrage, The Washington Post reports.

It also blasts Trump for labeling some Mexican immigrants as "rapists" and dismisses his plan to ban Muslims from entering the United States in a bid to stop terrorism at home.

"Donald Trump says we can solve America's problems by turning against each other. It's wrong, and it goes against everything New York and America stand for," Clinton says.

A narrator adds: "With so much at stake, she's the one tough enough to stop Trump."

The ad will air in New York City this week as Clinton tries to convince voters in the upcoming April 19 primary that she's the superior candidate to Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
