Both of the Democratic presidential candidates would beat GOP front-runner Donald Trump in a general election, a new poll shows.

CNN/ORC Poll released Tuesday that poses the hypothetical matchups finds Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton tops Trump 52 percent to 44 percent, while her rival, Sen. Bernie Sanders, beats Trump 55 percent to 43 percent.
Trump and Clinton were tied with 48 percent apiece during a similar sampling last September, but Sanders has slipped since last July, when the pollster found the Vermont lawmaker would've beat Trump by a 59-to-38-percent margin, the pollster reports.
In other findings of hypothetical matchups:
- Clinton, with 47 percent, trails Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, with 50 percent.
- Clinton gets 48 percent support, trailing in a matchup with Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who has 49 percent.
- Sanders tops both Cruz, 57 percent to 40 percent, and Rubio, 53 percent to 45 percent.
- Clinton and Trump are seen unfavorably by majorities of voters; Trump has a 59 percent unfavorable rating, while 53 percent have a negative view of Clinton.
The survey has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
