Hillary Clinton's campaign hit back at Donald Trump Tuesday after he seemed to joke about the possibility of someone assassinating her if she wins the presidency.
"This is simple — what Trump is saying is dangerous," Clinton campaign manager Robby Mook said in a statement posted to her campaign's Twitter account.
During a rally in Wilmington, N.C., Trump suggested "Second Amendment people" could do something about Clinton if she appoints liberal justices to the Supreme Court.
"If she gets to pick her judges, nothing you can do folks," Trump said. "Although the Second Amendment people — maybe there is, I don't know."
Trump's senior communications adviser Jason Miller released a statement on the campaign's website, blaming the "dishonest media" for the controversy over Trump's Tuesday remarks.
